Benefits of Garden Therapy
At Pearls of Life Foundation, we’re always looking for ways to promote physical and mental well-being for seniors. Recently, we introduced gardening activities to our programming, and the results have been remarkable.
Our seniors have been able to get their hands dirty, planting flowers, vegetables, and herbs. The physical act of gardening has provided numerous benefits:
- Improves flexibility and mobility
- Enhances strength and endurance
- Provides opportunities for social interaction and community building
But gardening has also had a profound impact on our seniors’ mental and emotional well-being:
- Reduces stress and anxiety
- Improves mood and overall sense of well-being
- Provides a sense of purpose and accomplishment
